Health and social care covers a diverse variety of sectors and disciplines, all with very distinct challenges and priorities.

The Sherrards’ Health and Social care team is a group of senior lawyers who are well-experienced in these various fields.

Supported Living Projects

These complex transactions often bring together a range of parties including funds, Registered Providers, the local authority, the care provider, the occupational tenants, the developer and (where relevant) the current owner of the property. We deal with the suite of documents needed to underpin such matters in a pragmatic, efficient and thorough manner.

Care Homes

We work with a range of care home providers to provide support and advice on matters such as employment, property, Immigration and dealing with financing and debt restructuring and acting on the sale and purchase of care facilities. Our Private Wealth team also offer support to people within the care homes, including drafting Wills, and advising and protecting vulnerable clients through the use of Trusts and the Court of Protection.

GP Practices and Primary Care

We work across legal disciplines to provide the best advice to GP Practices. Our work includes advising on and preparing partnership agreements; dealing with all property advice (including developments and sale and leaseback transactions) and lending arrangements and dealing with dispute resolution.

Dental Practices

We deal with the whole gamut of property and corporate work. We have particular expertise in dealing with asset and share sales and purchases.

Pharmacy

We are experienced in dealing with pharmacy business acquisitions and disposals, financing and refinancing.

Public Sector

Team members have many years of experience in acting for NHS organisations, local authorities and third sector providers on a range of legal matters. These include health-led community regeneration projects, developments, acquisitions and the disposal of surplus sites.
