Thomas Clark Senior Associate

Tom Clark is a Senior Associate in Sherrards’ Litigation department, advising businesses, professionals and private individuals on a broad range of complex disputes.

With more than ten years' experience and having qualified as a solicitor in 2020, Tom acts on a wide variety of contentious matters, including commercial litigation, banking and finance disputes, contractual disputes, professional negligence claims, fraud, debt recovery and multi-jurisdictional High Court litigation.

He also has extensive experience handling County Court proceedings for clients across a range of sectors.

Tom is developing a specialist practice in reputational management and defamation law, which is a new area for the firm, where he is advising clients on protecting their personal and commercial reputations. As part of this work, he has helped establish a transatlantic initiative with Platt Richmond, a Dallas-based law firm, to examine comparative approaches to defamation law and procedure between the UK and US jurisdictions.

His clients include entrepreneurs, high net-worth individuals, SMEs, international businesses and professionals, all of who value his commercial, proactive and pragmatic approach to dispute resolution. Tom is passionate about strengething the firm’s international relationships and continuing to build Sherrards’ reputation for delivering strategic, commercial focused litigation advice.

Few lawyers at his level can point to a practice spanning High Court litigation, multi-jurisdictional disputes and a cross-border defamation initiative. Tom’s work with Platt Richmond on comparing UK and US approaches puts him at the front of a developing area, and makes him a natural first call for clients whose reputational risks cross borders.
