Emma is a Legal Director in the Employment & Immigration department advising a wide range of clients, from individuals and charities to recruitment businesses and large international organisations. She specialises in employment law, GDPR and data protection.
Before training as a solicitor, Emma worked as an HR Advisor for a local authority. This experience underpins her practical, commercially focused approach to resolving employee relations issues.
Emma advises on contentious and non-contentious employment matters including grievances, disciplinary processes, dismissals, restructures, contracts of employment and general HR issues. Emma has particular interest in unfair dismissal and discrimination claims. She also advises on TUPE in corporate and property transactions and on agency worker terms and client terms for recruitment clients.
Emma’s Data Protection practice covers issues which arise in relation to employees, workers and even candidates for positions. She can assist with guiding clients on their individual data rights in accordance with GDPR, including making and responding to data subject access requests (DSAR), rectification and deletion of personal data.
Emma enjoys working closely with clients to provide pragmatic and commercial solutions to their employment needs. She is known by her clients for offering practical advice in an easy-to-understand format.
