Sherrards’ International Team attended Alliott Global Alliance EMEA Conference in Milan

Clive Coleman, the former BBC legal correspondent, gave the headline address to the conference, moderated by Paul Marmor. Clive is a writer of comedy, radio and film, as well as having been a barrister, and he is now a senior partner at Maltin PR, who help their clients with crisis management and other brand/reputation issues.

Clive gave some great insights into managing and handling PR from the perspective of AI, and considered the implications of large language models.  This is frontier material.  Top tip from Clive: above all else, be clear – clarity is everything.

Paul, speaking from the perspective of a litigator, added that the speed of response is also key to a crisis.

Nicole Marmor, head of Private Wealth, spoke on a panel focusing on multi-jurisdictional collaboration and her experience as an international succession lawyer.  Nicole’s top tip: project management is key.

Nelli Shevchenko, head of Immigration, spoke on a panel about corporate mobility, also emphasising the need to be clear and focus on good project management.  As Nelli said: “Legal project management isn’t a ‘nice to have’ – it is the backbone of excellent global mobility practice”.

We had a chance to really cement our relationships with our international colleagues, with a  chance to experience Giorgio Armani at the new museum, where their top tip is: pay attention to detail.  Who knew lawyers and fashionistas had so much in common!
