Tired of the rat race? 🐀

We are looking for an employment solicitor to join our expanding employment teams based in both our St Albans and London Office.

We like our teams working together in person where possible (as camaraderie is important to us) but, having said that, we do offer flexibility (always have – even pre-pandemic) and if you’d rather not have the commute every day, we are flexible.

Applicants with upwards of 3 years pqe would be ideal for this role, which includes a broad spectrum of excellent quality and complex contentious and non-contentious employment work.

Our clients range from SMEs, multinational and global corporations needing support with all aspects of employment law, to acting for senior executives and employees seeking advice on potential claims and settlement agreements. We have a contentious bias, managing Tribunal claims for both employers and employees, advising on disciplinaries and grievances, restrictive covenant breaches and day-to-day HR issues. We also support businesses with contracts, handbooks, policies and procedures, and advising in respect of TUPE.

Some of our clients are mentioned here in The Legal 500 where we consistently rank top tier (there’s no praise like self praise…)

We’re currently working on videos of client testimonials which should be published in the coming weeks, until then, why not get to know ‘the man himself’, Head of the Employment Team, Mark Fellows, by watching his latest video on Youtube? (Disclaimer: marketing made him do it).

For us, it’s straightforward – if you love your job, you’ll do a good job for the client. That means we offer career support and development, lots of social events, flexibility, a good salary, a bonus scheme (offered to all our teams, not just the solicitors), and a proper balance between work and home life.

This is an excellent career opportunity for the right candidate to join a close-knit, supportive team.

What’s in it for you?

We provide a great working environment with supportive colleagues and fantastic opportunities for growth and progression at a firm that really cares about you. Just look at our Sherrards Training Academy where we’ve grown Trainees into Partners. We also have a Mentoring programme, strong company values, objectives and lots going on all the time(quite honestly, we’re knackered!).

We believe it is important for all our colleagues to have objectives to work towards and we pride ourselves on helping our staff achieve them, be they personal or career objectives. We want to make sure you work to live, not live to work.

Salary will be dependent on experience.
