2020 was a hard year for many sectors, but one of the worst-hit was the charitable sector as a huge number of fundraising events and activities were unable to go ahead. Sherrards continues to support Rennie Grove Hospice Care in St Albans by contributing to their Corporate Christmas Campaign, Make a Will Month, and the Virtual Herts 10k.
Sherrards’ Wills, Trusts and Probate team once again provided their expertise to write Wills in return for a donation to Rennie Grove, as part of Make A Will Month. The team raised £1,290 which will pay for over 45 hours of specialist nursing care to patients with life-limiting illnesses. The scheme has many advantages, not only raising awareness of the importance of making a Will but also making sure your estate and assets can be distributed as per your wishes.
In December Sherrards donated £1,000 to fund two nights of care enabling their nurses to provide essential care and support to patients and their families, whatever time of night so they were not alone. Calls to the charity went up by 32% in December from last year which goes to show how valuable and needed this overnight care service is now more than ever.
For the 7th year in a row, the Sherrards team also took part in the Virtual Herts 10k. Our socially distance team completed a 10k route around St Albans braving the elements. The Herts 10k is one of Rennie Grove’s flagship events raising thousands of pounds and awareness for the charity so we were delighted that we were still able to take part.
We are proud supporters of Rennie Grove Hospice Care and thank them for the amazing care they provide to the local community.
