We are on the lookout for an Archiving Assistant to join the Sherrards team in St Albans.

Sherrards Solicitors LLP employs approximately 100 staff across two offices – the main office is in St Albans, Hertfordshire, with a second office in Holborn, London.

Job details:

  • Department: Accounts & Finance
  • Location: St Albans (with occasional travel to London (expenses paid). 
  • Reports to: Archiving coordinator/ Ops team
  • Hours: 12-15 per week (working hours flexible, agreed in advance) 
  • Contract type: permanent, part-time
  • Salary: Up to £20,000 per FTE annum, negotiable.

Main duties:

  • Recalling files and documents from external storage
  • Closing and storing of files and documents for completed matters
  • Updating of storage records when items are stored or retrieved
  • Co-ordinating destruction of files when they are no longer required to be stored
  • Dealing with fee earners to ensure prompt closure of files, dealing with queries around outstanding balances on ledgers, and tidying up ledgers
  • Assist with keeping the office as tidy as possible, and file free
