Sherrard’s property team adds Benito’s Hat and Eat at The Works to its retail client list

The Sherrards lawyers have a well-deserved reputation among restaurants, wine bars and pubs; but it’s not their drinking or eating abilities but rather their expertise in a fast moving and highly competitive sector which has earned them a place at the table.

Benito’s Hat were recommended to Sherrards by Eddie Holmes of Chop’d, a long-standing client of the firm.  Benito’s Hat, which serves high quality, simple, authentic Mexican food is opening new branches in its traditional heartland of London and the South East but also moving further north, with its first branch in Leicester. The Sherrards team were brought in to sort out the property legal issues surrounding the expansion.

Eat at the Works is a relative newcomer to the restaurant business. Set up and run by Roger and Elaine Bolton in 2014, it caters to the millions of people in the UK especially for those with a sweet tooth! It has 3 restaurants in Buckinghamshire and Essex serving a selection of savoury and sweet food.  Again, the Sherrards team worked on the legal aspects of the most recent opening in Chelmsford.

Terry Fendt who heads up the property team at Sherrards said, “We have a team of lawyers at Sherrards focused on the retail sector which means we do our best to really understand the issues which are most important to our retail clients.  Having our existing clients recommend others in the industry to us is a great compliment to the team here.”
